    Climate issues and energy co-operation were discussed at the meeting of the Ambassador of Poland in India, Prof. P. Kłodkowski with IPCC Chairman and TERI Director General, Dr. R K. Pachauri.

     

    Ambassador of Poland in India, Prof. Piotr Kłodkowski met Director General of the he Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Dr. R K. Pachauri.

    At the meeting the plan of common Embassy and TERI activities in 2013 and 2014 in the field of climate and energy was drafted.TERI’s activities aimed to predict and counteract the natural disasters like Uttarakhand tragic flood were also discussed.

     

    This year Poland hosts the Conference of Parties of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – COP 19. It will take place in Warsaw on November 11-22, 2013. Starting from the conference Poland will take over the global climate negotiations presidency for a year long.

    Dr. Pachauri combines his work in TERI with the function of the Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the international body supporting global climate negotiations with scientific expertise. His voice on climate change in the months preceding COP 19 is particularly important for the incoming presidency.
